Who I Am
I’m a Senior SRE and Platform Engineer based in the Greater Toronto Area, with over 20 years of experience building, automating, and operating complex infrastructure in the financial services sector.
My career spans the full infrastructure stack — from bare-metal and AIX in the early days, through IBM Middleware, to today’s cloud-native platforms on Azure and AWS. I’ve worked at some of Canada’s largest financial institutions, including Scotiabank, RBC, BMO, HSBC, and most recently Backbase, where I’ve been architecting a Banking-as-a-Service platform on Azure.
I care deeply about reliability, automation, and developer experience. I believe the best platform is the one engineers barely notice — it just works.
Beyond Engineering
Outside of work I’m a night-rated private pilot ✈️ — a discipline that has made me a better engineer. Aviation demands rigour, checklists, situational awareness, and clear communication under pressure. The same qualities that keep an airplane aloft keep production systems running.
I’m also a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA).
